Communications & Public Affairs
I build organizations, lead partnerships, and design public formats that turn complex issues into conversations people actually want to join. Currently leading Debate House AMKE — from zero to a nationally recognized platform.
About
I'm Filippos Petropoulos — a communications strategist who has spent the last five years building something from scratch. In 2020 I founded Debate House, and grew it from a lockdown side project into a registered nonprofit (AMKE) that partners with institutions like Deloitte, ELIAMEP, and the London School of Economics. Along the way, I built an audience of 27,000+ across platforms and organized events covered by national media.
Academically, I hold a degree in Marketing Communication from Deree — The American College of Greece — and a Master's from King's College London. That combination gave me both the strategic framework and the real-world instinct for how messaging, audience psychology, and institutional trust actually work.
What I bring to any team: the ability to take an abstract idea, give it structure, build the right partnerships around it, and communicate it in a way that earns attention and credibility.

Partnerships & collaborations
Journey
Spotted an opportunity during the lockdown: people wanted to talk about ideas, but there was no credible format for it. Built a digital-first debate platform, handling everything from content strategy to speaker outreach to audience growth.
Completed my Marketing Communication degree at Deree while running Debate House in parallel. Turned academic frameworks into real-world execution — from audience segmentation and brand positioning to stakeholder management.
Registered Debate House as a civil nonprofit, opening the door to formal partnerships with organizations like ELIAMEP, Deloitte, and ERT. Managed the full organizational build: governance, brand identity, partnership strategy, and operational frameworks.
Organized high-profile debates on nationally significant topics including the Parthenon Marbles question — attracting media coverage and institutional attention. Simultaneously pursuing a Master's at King's College London, deepening the strategic and analytical toolkit.
Impact
Full-length debates and public conversations — organic growth, no paid promotion.
Content strategy mixing event coverage, behind-the-scenes, and issue-driven storytelling.
Engaged audience driving event attendance and partnership visibility.
Short-form content strategy reaching younger demographics with debate highlights.
Capabilities
Messaging, positioning, audience development. I help organizations figure out what to say, to whom, and in what format — then I build the systems to make it happen consistently.
I've brought Deloitte, ELIAMEP, ERT, LSE, and others to the same table. I know how to pitch to institutions, align incentives, and create partnerships that deliver value for everyone involved.
From concept to execution: format design, speaker curation, production logistics, audience strategy, and on-stage moderation. I've produced dozens of public events from the ground up.
I built and run a nonprofit — handling governance, brand, team coordination, financial planning, and strategic direction. I know what it takes to turn an idea into a functioning organization.
